Best Dinner on Sullivan’s Island: The Longboard

If you are traveling to Charleston soon, you need to make sure to add The Longboard to your list for dinner spots! In this post, Best Dinner on Sullivan’s Island: The Longboard, I will share with some of our favorite items on the menu!

Just like many people do, I went to Instagram in search of dinner locations while visiting Charleston, South Carolina. I came across photos of the Longboard, and after reviewing the menu online, we immediately made reservations!

Where is it located?

The Longboard restaurant is located on Sullivan’s Island, and is a quick walk from the beach!

We chose to stay at an Airbnb in Mount Pleasant, and it was only about a 10 minute drive to get there!

Should I book a reservation in advance?

Yes! It was easy for us to get a reservation on a Saturday night, however, it quickly got busy as it’s a popular place for the locals to meet up for happy hour.

You can book a reservation on their website here!

Menu

The menu includes brunch, oyster bar, raw bar, on shore, plates, and much more! If you would like to check out the full selection of foods and drinks, visit their website to browse the menu!

Our Meal

Every item we chose from the menu was truly incredible! The flavors of each dish are memorable and were absolutely meals I would choose again for my next visit! Continue reading for details of why this is the best dinner on Sullivan’s Island.

Drinks

I choose the Heart & Sol which consists of grilled pineapple-serrano infused reposado tequila, grand marnier, pineapple, lime, and honey.

The pineapple slice on top was as fresh as pineapples from the Hawaiian islands! It also has a little kick in the aftertaste, if you prefer such cocktails!

We also tried the Mi Boy Lilikoi which is made with reposado tequila, mezcal, habanero, lime, passion fruit foam, and chili-lime salt.

Appetizer

For our starter, we shared the Grilled Pineapple Salad, which was phenomenal! This fresh salad included arugula, Castelvetrano olives, radish, feta, and topped with a sherry-agave vinaigrette.

I could easily have eaten it as my main course. We almost ordered a second one. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Main Course

Choosing from the multitude of mouthwatering selections on the menu, we ended up deciding to get the Wood Grilled Chicken Breast and the Berkwood Farms Bone-In Pork Chop.

The Wood Grilled Chicken Breast is made with grilled avocado, tomatoes, queso fresco, tomatillo salsa, and corn. This dish was an excellent partner to the Grilled Pineapple Salad!

However, the wood-grilled & brined porkschop with butterkin squash puree, brussels sprouts, and tamarind glaze, was my favorite of the two.

Not only was the pork chop tender and filled with incredible flavor, the squash purée was an unexpected, mouth-watering addition! I’m also a huge fan of brussel sprouts, so rest assured that I joined the clean plate club.

The Beach

Since the restaurant is located so close to the beach, we decided to go for a quick stroll along the shore after our meal. The neighborhoods are filled with beautiful homes overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed admiring the different styles of houses throughout the area and watching the sun set behind the light house.

Overall, I would ABSOLUTELY come back to The Longboard for another meal in the future. It is no doubt the best spot for the dinner on Sullivan’s Island!
