Did you know… Grand Canyon National Park is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World?
Covering over 1,900 square miles, the Grand Canyon is home to over 1,700 plants and approximately 350 different species of animals and reptiles. It was made a National Park in 1919 and receives around 6 million visitors a year!
Although most people would fear the drops (the Abyss point has a vertical drop of 3000ft!) more people are injured each year by being bitten by the rock squirrels!
If you plan on visiting the park soon, I highly recommend hiking the Bright Angel Trail into the canyon! The trail has stops at 1, 2, 3, and 5 miles down, OR you can hike all the way to the Colorado River at the bottom and stay in a cabin or dorm at Phantom Ranch.

The total hike down is just shy of 10 miles and it is absolutely worth the views! Don’t worry, you can cool off in one of the creeks after your hike like I did!
